Sunday Morning Breakfast

This morning I was feeling good and craving some sausage gravy and biscuits. I called Gail and got some directions and attempted the gravy. The pic looks really white but it turned out the most beautiful light brown color. I was so proud! Brett loved it. I am not really a great cook so I am always happy to discover a new dish to add to my current short list of things I can consistently make that are edible. Brett is an amazing cook but this morning I think I rivaled him!

Baby Update

We went to the doctor for our 14 week appointment. We didn't get an ultrasound but did get to hear the heartbeat on the doppler. It was cool. I have a pretty sizeable "bump" and can no longer wear most of my real clothes, except for a few shirts that were flowy before. Now they are snug but work if I need something to wear. Maternity clothes have been a challenge. I don't want to spend a zillion dollars for temporary clothing but the cheap stores have the most horrible things. All of the high waisted shirts make me look enormous! I wore a maternity dress to a wedding and after a few comments on how huge I was I heard myself say yes, I'm 16 weeks! Oh I hate lying!! I am terrible at it. Honestly I was 13 weeks at the time. I will only be 15 this Tuesday..terrible I know!

I will not go into the details but I have been pretty miserable the entire time until lately. I think I can finally take my head out of the toilet though! I still get really sick at night but there is some relief during the day and it is going away very very slowly.

We find out the gender April 8 and I cannot wait! Brett thinks it's a girl and I have thought it was a boy until lately...now I don't know. Anyway, we have been looking at furniture and a few things because we are excited but can't really do anything yet. I think we have finally agreed on a set.
What do you think of it?

It's been a month

Ok, so I haven't really blogged in a month. To be fair the laptop was down for about 2 weeks. I admit, I got frustrated with how slowly things were loading and hit the button to restart. I have done it a million times without any negative consequence, but this time it totally screwed up everything and wouldn't boot even in safe mode!

I just uploaded whatever pics were on the camera to catch up. We went to a beautiful wedding in Nashville and I left my camera at the hotel :(

Hubby is always a sweetie but since I have been preggers he is even more thoughtful. I have gotten fresh flowers every week! I haven't snapped all of them but here are some pretty ones..

Valentines- We cooked and went to see Shopaholic. I was impressed, Brett grilled steaks and made harticot verts. I helped him make a homeade bernaise and he mixed in some crab meat..yum! The movie was disappointing. I read all the books and it was not nearly as good as the books!

Babysitting Weekend- We went to Pensacola and stayed with Braden while Mark and Amber got away for the night. We had fun keeping the little guy busy. We took him to his church basketball game, bowling and a 3D movie..

We all felt goofy in our glasses. It reminded me of a pic I saw in US Weekly of Beyonce and Jay Z at the movies. I thought maybe he was wearing 3d glasses but they were really his personal glasses.. pretty similar!

Yesterday I drove to Atlanta for my friend April's baby shower. It was a really nice shower ! I haven't taken many pics since I started showing but my face looks pretty puffy. Fortunately you can't really see how huge my tummy already is!

This Thursday we went to see Cirque. It was really amazing! They were phycho about no pictures being taken so I got these from Google images. If you haven't been you should go! It is unbelievable to see how flexible these people are!

I'm in love!

This is our sweet baby's profile! We went to our appointment with the new doc today and we love her! They do regular and 4D ultrasounds which is fun! You can see so much more with the 4D. I'm at work and guiltily sneaking in a blog.. I will update the post tonight. Enjoy!

One reason I quit updating was that I dropped my camera a few months ago and broke the hinge on the battery so it wouldn't stay on. My sweet hubby bought me a cute red one for Christmas. I haven't taken as many photos but here are some of the things on it.

Over Christmas we went home to Clarksdale to hang with my family for a few days. It was really nice to be home but after awhile you run out of things to do. We were bored one afternoon so we drove around and took a bunch of black and white photos. For those of you that aren't blessed with a connection to Clarksdale it is a small Mississippi delta town that has a lot of blues stuff. As boring as it seems the pics turned out pretty cool. Brett grew up in Clarksdale so we had a good time riding around reminscing. There is a huge tree out on the highway that used to scare him as a child so we got a pic of it too...

We rode out to my Papaw's farm and took some more. I especially like these:

Superbowl Sunday I went to the Ringling Bros. Circus with Brett's aunt, cousin and her two boys. I wasn't super jazzed about going but I had the best time. It was really really cool. I just didn't know what to expect before we went. I did certaintly did not expect all of the tricks and the grandess of the show. I am sure it has to be amazing to a child..

Here's a random from Christmas. Claire made Brett, her boyfriend Jim and her dad underwear with their names on it as a joke...

We had an awesome Christmas. Brett way overdid the gifts after putting me on a budget...not fair! He knew we were probably going to be focused on a baby's first Christmas next year so he spoiled me. I got a black diamond David Yurman bracelet, a new Vera Bradley set in a very cute pattern, a really nice coat, some smoky quartz earrings, mcartys pottery and the list goes on. He really is the best hubby! Dad got him some golf clubs and I got him shoes, club covers etc. and the boring old essential man stuff, cologne and the such.

Glad to be back blogging, looking forward to a great 2009!
